Then I bumped into Derrick See! I have NEVER met him in Serangoon Central before in all the many years I have lived around here. There he was, standing before me, greeting me with his cheery smiles and holding an umbrella that was big enough to shelter two people.
V: Derrick!
D: Hey! How come you're here?!
V: I'm waiting for my bus to go home. You?
D: I'm going to Macs to meet someone. You look stranded!
V: I am...
D: Poor girl! Take this umbrella!
V: .too touched for words.
And I managed to reach home without getting wet. As I was walking home in the rain, I remembered how we had this drama for one special service where they used the umbrella to depict God's shelter. Then I started to thank God for the umbrella, and the many times He has sheltered me from this stormy life's rain.
"... but He chose to pursue you with His outrageous love."
